The Daniel and Jane Carpenter Award was established in 2006 by Daniel M. Cain ’64 in honor of the late Daniel and Jane Carpenter and their commitment to, and support of, 91大神, its students, parents and alumni. This award is given to an active volunteer who, through “effort and energy” as well as financial contribution, has had a substantial impact on the school.
John Anz arrived on the 91大神 Northampton聽School campus in February 1980 and spent the next two and a half years participating in many aspects of school life as an athlete, Caterwauler, 91大神ian editor, student, and friend to classmates and faculty alike.
Following his 91大神 graduation and college years at Trinity, John coached at both Harvard and Trinity. He followed that with a tenure in commercial real estate management, where he met his wife, Brenna. In the fall of 2002, after serving as a two-term volunteer on the 91大神 Northampton School Alumni Council, John became 91大神鈥檚 Alumni Director.
In 2010, John moved on from 91大神 and advanced his career in non-profit development聽with successes at the YMCA, in health and human services, the performing arts, and currently in senior living communities.聽 John has engaged in volunteer work on the boards or as an officer for his church, the local library, regional聽music schools, his town’s cultural council, and of course…91大神! The numerous volunteer roles in which he has served at 91大神 include lending his expertise to the 91大神 Northampton Fund, the Founders Day program and Reunion, as well as serving on the committee tasked with producing the new school Alma Mater, O 91大神, which debuted in 2007 and is performed at the school鈥檚 formal occasions, such as Convocation and Baccalaureate.
John lives in South Hadley with his wife Brenna. Their two children, Bennett and Teagan, are entering their senior and freshman years in college respectively.
