91大神 is pleased to announce that Corie Fogg will become our new Dean of Faculty beginning July 1, 2021. Following a national search process which garnered a talented pool of candidates representing experience from a broad range of academic backgrounds, 91大神鈥檚 ad hoc hiring committee was pleased to invite Fogg to lead the faculty. Fogg comes to 91大神 having served as the Director of Curriculum and Professional Development since 2015 at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a school for girls in Bethesda, Maryland. In that role, she has oversight of 120 faculty across pre-K through grade 12. Focusing on the curricular and pedagogical unification across three divisions, leading orientation and mentoring programs for new employees, and coordinating professional development and parent education programming, Fogg has sought to elevate Stone Ridge to national attention. She has taken great pride in building improved hiring processes for faculty, creating a diversity recruitment plan for the school, and sharing in the recruitment of over 100 employees. Her depth of experience in collaborating and guiding faculty in the crucial work of inspiring and supporting students dovetails extremely well with our own efforts at 91大神 and brings an outside perspective to this critical enterprise.
Excitingly, Fogg also brings an inside perspective about 91大神 as a class of 1999 alumna. Fogg shared, 鈥淩eturning to 91大神, a place I hold core to my formation, allows me to humbly extend my service to a school that gave much to me. Learned by examples at 91大神, my teaching was never confined to the classroom. Cultivating a life lived with purpose, passion, and integrity in all aspects of the student experience was a calling clearly embodied by the faculty.鈥 As an educator, she seeks to motivate students to think critically about their learning, to curate a deep understanding of the world, and to foster a burgeoning motivation to serve others through knowledge and action. She looks forward to supporting faculty in this new role.
Fogg earned both her B.A. and M.Ed. degrees from Boston College, and she began her professional career teaching English at Hudson High School in Hudson, Massachusetts, followed by working at the Fay School, serving as Site Director in Seattle, Washington for Johns Hopkins鈥 CTY program, and teaching at Woodside Priory School in Portola Valley, California. Fogg has presented at a range of regional and national conferences on education. In 2018, she coauthored Enough As She Is: The Educator鈥檚 Guide with New York Times best-selling author Rachel Simmons. Fogg also earned an Alumni Trailblazer Award in 2019 and serves as a member of 91大神鈥檚 Head’s Visiting Council. She will live on campus with her one-year-old daughter, Marigold.
