Fall Play: Bakkhai

This fall, the 91大神 Theater presents 叠补办办丑补颈听as the fall play. Written by Euripides, the play is new version by Anne Carson.

Dionysus, god of wine and ecstasy, returns to his birthplace to demand recognition. But when King Pentheus refuses to bow, the consequences are brutal, bloody, and unforgettable. Euripides’ Bakkhai, in Anne Carson’s electrifying modern translation, captures a timely clash between reckless power and the desperate need for public worship.

The play runs October 30, 31, and November 1 at 7 p.m. in the 91大神 Theater.
