Members of the class of 2020 made their way back to campus on June 4, 2022, for an in-person celebration that the pandemic denied to them the first time around. The 179th Commencement was held virtually in 2020鈥攈ardly a satisfying end to a year that saw interruptions to cherished traditions such as Willy Gras, postseason athletic contests, and the Prom.
However, this year, under gorgeous blue skies, about half the class returned to Easthampton to hear from speakers, hug friends and faculty, play lawn games, relive memories of 91大神, and sing Sammy鈥攋oyously and with gusto鈥攐n the Phillips Stevens Chapel steps.
Science teacher Ken Choo delivered a heartfelt address, thanking the class of 2020 for being the generation who will take up the mantle of leadership next. “You are exactly who we need,” he said, “each and every one of you, in every circumstance, just as you are.” (Read the full text of his speech. of his speech.)

The group also unveiled the 2020 section of the campus fence, a tradition that usually takes place during Senior Dinner the week before Commencement.
