Zoe鈥檚 encouragement and support are especially valued by our younger and novice runners, who benefit from her advice and upbeat energy. On Saturday, she ran a hard, smart race鈥攊mpressively following her SATs that morning. We鈥檙e excited for her continued leadership and contribution throughout the season.
Keira Gould 鈥28 鈥 Varsity Field Hockey
Keira missed all of last season due to injury but remained a core part of the team, coming and watching every practice and game. This season, Keira has made an immediate impact. Her observation has led her to become the heartbeat of the field,聽playing center back. Keira鈥檚 efforts helped the team to a decisive victory over St. Mark鈥檚 this week, where she scored her first career goal off a corner shot. More importantly, Keira has brought enthusiasm and joy every day. Recently, when doing conditioning during practice, she shouted, 鈥淭his聽is so fun,鈥 and challenged her teammates to find the same joy. We are so excited to see what the rest of the season holds for Keira!
Atticus Snow 鈥26 鈥 Varsity Football
Atticus Snow was all over the field for the Wildcats on Saturday night in front of an amazing home crowd! He finished the game with five tackles, one Sack, and one tackle for loss. He also had three quarterback hurries. Atticus is the ultimate teammate and a great leader in all that he does.
Sebastian Fonseca 鈥26 鈥 Boys Varsity Soccer
Senior co-captain Sebastian Fonseca Morales’ strong leadership of the Boys Varsity Soccer team has helped the Wildcats get off to a great start this fall.聽 The team scored many goals during their preseason trip in Guatemala, and they continued their lethal offensive threat once they returned to campus by posting a 9-0 win over Pomfret on Sunday.聽 Sebas, and his teammates, conceded only one goal in the first three games.聽 The group connected with one another very quickly thanks to Sebas’ mentorship of the new players.聽 The Mexico City native leads his team against very good competition this week as the Wildcats travel to Berkshire School on Wednesday and then head down to West Chester, Pennsylvania, to face Westtown School. Sebas and his teammates continue to push themselves every day to be the best players they can be.
Henry Estes 鈥27 鈥 Boys JV A Soccer
Henry Estes played a pivotal role in the opening win of the season for JVA Boys Soccer, who defeated Berkshire 1-0 for the first time in years. Playing largely central defense, Henry snuffed out numerous dangerous breakaways by our opponent. In the period where he played midfield, he helped us control the play and had us looking our best, before being returned to the defense to ensure the victory. A quiet leader, Henry’s demonstrates incredible toughness and fearlessness, serving as a model of effort and effectiveness on the field.
Catie Putt 鈥26 鈥 Girls Varsity Soccer
This week we recognize Catie, who set the tone in our home opener with relentless energy and determination. Known for her tenacity and work ethic, she gives 100% every time she steps onto the field. Her effort paid off in a big way as she scored our first two goals of the season, helping to spark the team鈥檚 attack and get us off to a strong start. She is also the player who is willing to play whatever position is best for the team and can adjust on the fly.
